Caught
I saw her swinging
in her freedom
Her innocence
from four houses down
had drawn her there.
She appeared like
the rabbits and deer
treating nature
like a gift.
Her blonde curls
catching light
creating a halo.
She caught my glance
as I snuck out on
the deck
too late
to go back.
I wanted her
to stay and take
in the green.
Yet, she tiptoed
through the grass
away from the flowers,
away from the hammock,
moving into her life
and away from mine.

Very good! Thank you for this sweet meditative breath.
